Feb 28th

So this is the last day of the month. And we had a great day in Ft Walton Beach Florida. Ferry Park is the name of their Disc Golf Course. And we meet a 2 week new disc-golfer named Brain. And he played our first round with us. I have found that it is alot better to play a round with a local then it is to wonder through the unexplored courses. Brain was nice enough to show us around the course. He also informed us about their 2pm doubles that they were haveng today. So we got our first round in and I took the big W. I shot 2 down but Joe was right behind
me at even par. This was from the short tee though. So we showed up for doubles. And my partner and I finished up tieing for first with ten under par. So we had to play off to decide the tie. Allthough I would of rather just thrown for Closest to the pin to decide for of. they wanted to play off for it. This means the first one to beat the other on a hole. But what happens too many times is that you keep on tieing. Well we played three holes and this is my like 50th hole of the day and we miss a 40 ft putt to lose first place. But this is still a win. SO me and my partner split $30 instead of $60. Still that Florida moneys is real nice!lol Well after the doubles we got a few more people to come sign our fridge. See we are letting disc-golfers that we meet on our trip come in and sign our fridge. After hanging out with everyone someone asked if we wanted to play a glow round. Of course we were down. They put open a glow stick and dripped that stuff onto a little peice of paper. Then taped it to the top of our discs. That was cool. plus there happened to be a full moon. Wow were couldn't of had any better of a time. So we played doubles and me and Ben partnered up and beat three teams. One of those was Joe though. And he didn't have a partner. So he just got an extra one shot each hole. So after that we had to say good bye to all the cool guys from FT Walton Beach (F-DUB) :( I hope I to do this kind of thing again, So that I can see all these cool people again in my life.

Feb 24th

Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area is home of two of the most unique course that I have ever played. Fist of all this is a super private course. You have to be sponsored by someone in their club or have a valid Military ID. But luckily we meet Mr. Mike Sidebottom last week at the tournament we played in Moble AL. And he set it up for us to be here. Then we had not be here for more then 30 mins before Mr. Sidebottom came by our campsite to challenge us three to a doubles match against him and two other (old guys) is how he put it. So we couldn't say no to the challenge. Even though we had said that this was going to be our day off from throwing. So we play these " old guys" and get our butts kicked. Well first of all two of these guys were the course designers. So we get up early the next day to play the other course. And to be warmed up to play them again. Well we got our butts
stomped again. this time they shot 13 under par and we only shot 6 under par. But it was really cool playing with this guy named Thomas. He was one of the designers and he had mad all kind of stuff out there on the courses. Like one hole had a suspended basket that he had put up. And there was all kind of stuff in the trees that he had put there. Like one hole had a big Bell hanging in the
trees. One hole had a wooden airplane on it. Each hole had its own character about it. I don't think we can top this stay.

Feb 21st
So we had to day goodbye to Moble today. But not before we playing their best course if you ask me. It was a lot more open then the other
courses that we had played. It was called Municable DGC. And it was the first time we got to see what our new best friend Shane could do. Well needless to say he killed us all. But that's because he had a 450 ft shot every time if he wanted. Well this course had some unique holes. There was a hole that had an full size airplane on it. And there was a hole that had a Old school steam engine train on it. Both were wrapped by a tall metal fence. Which were both OB. But it made for some beautiful shots.

After that we headed to Fairhope AL. There was a nice course there surrounding a school. We only got to play the first couple holes here. But
the ones that we played were very nice. huge open shots into a baskets set nicely under a huge tree. But the sun ran out on us. So we headed to our
next adventure.

Feb 20th 2010

We thought we knew discgolf. But we didn't. We have found the kind of world that I want to live in. Moble AL is awesome. They have over 40 courses in the county. And over 12 within a 15 mile radius around Moble. We first went to Cottage Hill DGC. It was very wooded but fun. most the holes were through a tight fairway and finished under some huge tree. But Joe pulls out the win. He beat me by 3 strokes. But while we were there we came across a flier for a tournament on feb 20th. we at this point it was that Friday. so how many times are we going to come across a tournament that is tomorrow? So we check into it and there was camping on site also. So we are headed back to the bago and we meet a guy named Shane. Well he is camping at the same place that the tourney is at. so we just best friend Shane and he drove us to some of their local courses. We played doubles at two different Awesome courses. and the tournament was cool as hell. We meet so many people. We meet the Godfather of Southern Nationals. Well So I placed 5th (tied) in my
division. Well 19th out of 50 really. But I had a great time. That night I put out a fire at the mens shower house. I was about to leave the bathhouse and I noticed a coal had feel out on the ground so i opened the door to see what it was that fell. And the frame to the heat vent was on fire. So i ran back to the bago and grabbed the fire extinguisher that we had just bought for the bago. And ran back up to the bathhouse. put out the flames. So then me and Ben flagged down the securty guy and he called 911. That was as crazy night.

Feb. 18th 2010

Hello all, Writing y'all from good old Mississippi. We hit up two courses. First we made it to Shepard state park. Mississippi has a good habit of putting disc golf parks in at their state parks. Which is great form us! Well hole fifteen was only a short trail from our camp site. Muddy has no meaning to the rest of the world like it does here in Mississippi. But if you didn't mind the mud, it was an awesome course. So Joe hit the basket on the last hole to earn his way into the 51 club. But Ben Yip is turning into pretty good player. He tied Joe.

Then we made it Pascagoula Mississippi. IG Levy is the name of their course there. We meet Bobby from Fl there and without hie help. We wouldn't of been able to follow the course design. But I had the worst day. I lost TWO of my main drivers. One beat in Champion Roadrunner. And a new First run Big star star Katana. And Ben tied me. And Joe beats both of us. Good job Joe. BY the way we stopped at the Hard Rock casino while we were here in Mississippi. And I won there. Went in with $40 to spend walked out with a free Birthday Buffet and about $200.00 extra in my wallet

02182010

Hello all. We are writing y'all from Mississippi. We finished up LA and got out of town before New Orleans swallowed us up. Hahaha just kidding. But New Orleans was pretty crazy. Anyway we headed for the cost towards our next course and came to relize that there were a ton of casinos in Mississippi. SO we stopped in to the HardRock cafe Casino. We had an unbelievable meal at the Satisfaction Buffet. Where after we were done we understood how it got its name! After filling our belly's to the rim. We hit the floor. I won over $100.00 in the first ten mins. So after the fellas lost all there moneys and I was up to Around $200.00 we called it quit and headed of to Gauiter, MS. Shepard State Park was the next course on our trip so we got there around dusk and as so as we pulled up, I saw it was another Disc golf course at a Park where we can camp at. So We made camp and woke up early and played. Ben Had the lead after the first 9. Man he is getting better veryday. But Joe took it from both of us at the end. Joe was 6 over par and Ben and I tied at 9 over par. So this was the first time I had not won on the trip.
Way to go fellas!

Then we drove to Pascagoula, MS. To a course called IG Levy DGC. All of these courses that we have been playing have just beenredone since Katrina. And this one was the same way. SO the baskets and tee boxes were a little hard to find since everything got washed away. But this course Took two very important discs from me. My favorite Roadrunner and my brand new Big Star Katana. We even went back after we were done playing to try and find them. But after the sun was running out on us we had to call it quits. And Joe won again. He shot two stokes better then Ben and I. And yes again Ben tied me. SO then we headed back to AL. Mobile to be correct. Where there must be a Disc Golfers dream. There are 12 Courses within 15 miles of each other. SO hopefully I will have some killer story's to tell. Until next time

MardiGras 2010

Hello all. I am writing y'all from New Orleans and I am now one year older. This has been my first Mardi Gras. And it was as crazy as everyone said it was going to be. And we did somehow play some disc golf. Lafreniere Park is the New Orleans DGC. It had 24 holes. They were pretty much in an open field with some big trees and tucked in pin positions. They was some water on a couple holes. I did throw a start xcalaper right in the drink .
So I had had the hardest time staying in front of joe and be on the score card. But I held the win by only one stroke. Good job Joe! So tomorrow we head out of town once again. Onward to Mississippi once again. This time I hope it's much warmer. So we'll talk to y'all at the casino when we hit it big. peace out

Bago work day

Hello all. Writing y'all from Slidell LA. Which is 20 miles out of New Orleans. We are here for Mardi Gras & my birthday. I'll be 29 this year. And I have never been to Mardi Gras so this is working out great. But other then that we started yesterday out great. We changed the spark plug and then played a huge course in Zachray LA. The course was called Flanacher park. They used all of the land they had. There were a lot of open shots and tight fairway shots. They also used the woods and the open fields wonderfully. So after finishing playing and eating some lunch we headed to the next town. We got about half way to our next destination and the throttle cable broke. This was the first time that the bago left us on the side of the road. So we had to call AAA. That god for them. They got us to Joe's uncle's house and then we bought the new cable this morning. But I am going to celebrate my birthday and Mardi Gras before i dive into fixing the bago. So I'll talk to y'all later

Monroe

Monroe LA

Hello all. This is Robbie writing y'all from Monroe LA. We had an old disc golf buddy that lives here. And he has took care of us right from the second we drove into town. I can't thank he enough. Him and his family has feed us and took us out with them. SO THANK YOU Roger Blocker!!!! Roger took us to his local courses (Lazare Park). But the main course here in town is under the water right now. But we managed to play about 9 holes. And then we went down the street to a DGC at a local ball golf course. I have never played on a ball golf course. And don't really want to ever again. There were ton of water holes and we lost our first discs of the trip. We lost a star Valkyrie and a Aviar big bead putter. But we knew we wouldn't make it home with all the disc that we started with. Alright guys time of me to go. so I'll be writing about our trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and my birthday this week. So talk to y'all then Peace

Roosevelt State Park

Roosevelt State Park. So we hit up this state park of a couple days of R & R. We have been spending way to much on gas these past couple days. And thought we would stay a couple days here at this huge state park. And there is a course on site aswell. And it only cost 16 dollars a day. We have been spending like over 80 dollars a day just on gas. so to only spend 16 dollars for a couple days helped out us a great deal. Anyways The course here is hardest course that i think i have ever played. Long holes and tight faiways and the over water shots make it hard. BUt i like it alot. Shot 14 over par. but it felt like on 5 over par at a normal course. So we are headed out of Mississippi as fast as we got here it feels. But onward to the next course. Talk to ya'll then :)

Hefflin AL

Lake point Dgc in Hefflin Al

Hello all. We are in Heffin AL. At Lake point Park. there might not be much here in Heffling, But I would love to live near this course.
It is a beauiful course that is right beside a lake. You start off on top of this dam. And shot right down the middle of the dam. Scary stuff
My fav so far. Shot one down. Pretty happy about that. I don't throw under often. Anyway weplayed Trussivile AL next. Man this course is long.
But real fun. they had the poles that are made to hold our discgolf bags at each tee pad. That was nice. A ton of huge Pine trees fill this course.
Civitan Park was the name of their course. Mach 5 baskets. Tough course. I shot 8 over. not to bad. Finnilay we played in biringham AL.
Goerge ward park is the name of their course. And it wasby far the busyest course that we have come accross. They even had someone in the parking lot selling disc.
So I bought me a Brand new Katana (Big star print). Man is it fast. Its just like they said " a beefed up sidewinder". We played most of the course. The sun wasnt on our side.
But we only skipped there extra hole. We played the main holes and just skipped the 14a thru 14f. I shot my second 8 over par for the day. Playing
three courses in one day will wear you out. So at the end of our round, we were walking u back to the bago. and we meet some locals. Brought they in the bago,
And talked discgolf till we were blue in the face. Hard part is haveing to leave when everyone is just so nice. BUt the trip has to go on. So we are off to Missisissippi.

Deer Lick Park

Hello all. Writting ya'll from HotLanta (Atlanta). Today we played a course Named Deer Lick Park. This course was a blast. Firts
let me tell you about the course map they give you. It has a diagram for each hole. That made it a lot easier to find out the layout
of the course. Which is usally our hardest thing about playing new courses. And they had a ton of stuff other then just discgolf.
They had a Big skate park, Putt-putt golf, big and little dogs areas. I lost my camera on hole 9 but we found it after looking for over 20 mins.
Alright guys, guess thats all for now.

The first day

Hello all. I am writing ya'll form the road:) We had an awesome day today. First thing that I am pretty happy about is that it only took about half of a tank to get to Atlanta GA from the Upstate of South Carolina. Plus the bago ran great. So we didn't get going this morning early enough to hit up both courses in ATL that I wanted to hit. But that's cool, I don't live that far from ATL anyway. We hit up Deer Lick Park in Douglasville GA. It was a beautiful 18 hole course. Even had a skate park, putt-putt, huge fishing pond, and even a dog park. The course was pretty hard. A lot of tough and long holes though the tight wooded fairways. But I came up with the big W. Beat Joe by five strokes and Ben by 13. I even lost my camera on hole 9. But didn't notice it missing until hole 15. We went back and found it. That was close to 6:30pm so I thought we were going to have to skip the last couple holes. But luckily we found it. So then we drove to Hefin AL. And now we are camping out near the course.
Talk to ya'll real soon

gas money

It is right around the corner from tax season. And i could really use that money on this trip plus I got a call for a two day job for this Friday and Saturday. It would help us big time with gas on the trip. So with all that it looks like we could be on the road Feb 2nd. That leaves two weeks to get to Mardi Gras, and my birthday. I will keep the same schedule but just change the dates. Wednesday the 27th of Jan, the Winnebago goes to get a whole new muffler. So i'll blog again Wednesday.
Until then

PS: I accept paypal if anyone wants to help us with any gas moneys lol

back on track

Hello all. Well today is Jan 22nd, 2010. I left off 9 days ago and didn't even Make it two miles down the interstate 85. But luckily we had my buddy Chris with us and after he worked his magic, he got us off the side of the road once again. So we had to change the carburetor in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts. Still just barely made it home. So we replaced the whole distributor , the cap, the fuel pump, and the starter relay. And low and behold It was just the distributor was the problem the hole time. It fixed all problems. Now I got a new muffler being put on this Monday. After that we should be able to get back on the road by Wednesday. But until then I am thinking about taking a little overnight trip tomorrow. Just to see how it does. Wish me luck and I'll see y'all later

Bad start

The day started about the best day of my life. But things changed real fast. As soon as we hit our first main interstate, disaster struck. Trying to get up to speed, the carburetor up to the fast pace of I85. We made it only two and a half miles until we were dead stopped on the side of the road. But luckily our mechanic Chris Cirou saved us once again. He did his magic and made it go 20 miles an hour top speed. We made it off of I85 outside of Pendleton. After traveling at a top speed of 20 miles an hour, we stopped at the Bilo parking lot. At the Bilo parking lot, there was a GoodWill where Joe Wallace bought his first suit. Four hours later, we make it to the AutoZone in Clemson, SC. My parents met me there and purchased a new carburetor. Jim, my step dad, put installed it in the parking lot. We made it home and it sounds fine, but we're going to wait a couple days to make sure everything is 100%. So the schedule is going to be off a couple of days, please be patient with us. We will get back on track ASAP. Till next time.

Leaving in the morning

So tomorrow is coming up fast. We are headed out to begin our 3000 mile trip. How much stuff will four grown men need is the question of the day. We got our own little cubbyholes for our clothes and the pantry filled. All clean dishes. Enough bedding to keep 10 people warm. 7:30 am is departure time. A short two hour ride to our first course ( White Oak Park Dallas GA). We are going to hit two courses tomorrow before we find a place to sleep in or around Heflin , AL. We were thinking that we will pay to camp every other day. And the other days we would just be boonedocking. So our adventure begins tomorrow. A once in a life time trip. I can't wait. Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to check us out. I will be posting a ton of pics and videos. So see ya'll then.

giving the bago a bath

Hello all. Hopefully we are leaving within the week. They say it might snow tonight so I have heat on in the Winnebago. Trying to test the waters i guess. I hope we are going south fast enough to not need the heat a lot. But I heard that this winter might be a record breaking winter. The sooner we get to Mardi Gras, the better. Then we head to Florida as fast as possible. So dealing with the cold is going to be a test for all of us. Until next time

starting to look up!

Had a great day today. Started the day with a trip to the flea market. Got some long johns and some wool socks. They say this winter might be record breaking cold temperatures. Trying to get ready for the cold. Well after the Flea market, Chris installed a new starter relay. And got the bago started up like a champ. Then took it to get the oil changed. So nothing left other than to clean the winne and collect our last paychecks. Then we are off. Hopefully in the next five days. So I'll let talk to ya'll later.

starter relay problems

Hello all. I have been working on the winne today. Went out this morning and tried to start it and to my surprise it didn't start. Seems that the starter relay is not getting a good enough connection. We cleaned it off with some sand paper. Still to no result. I had to go to Napa and order a new one. So tomorrow the winne will have a new starter relay. It seems that every new day, comes a new problem. Hopefully we find all our little problems now and not on our trip. Good news, My friend Chris (a trained Mechanic)is going with us. He said that he can't go for the whole trip but he will come with us until his money runs out. Then he will take a bus from where ever we are at the time. Alright guys. Talk to ya'll later

Running behind already

Hello everyone. Just thought that I had a min so I would write a couple lines. I will not be able to leave on time. We have to wait until we get our last check from work, that has to be sent though the mail. Going to have to leave about two weeks late. But no worries, we'll just have to cut out Texas. Texas has a crazy amount of Disc Golf courses anyway. Just in Dallas there are over 50 courses. Maybe we'll have to take the next trip out there. For now, we are just going to LA, then south. So hang in there and I'll get on the road shortly. Talk to ya'll later

Ice Bowl 2010

Well let me start off by wishing everyone a happy new year. Mine has started out wonderful. Took the winne on a little drive earlier and adjusted the idle speed and we are now in business. Tomorrow (Jan 2nd) we are taking the winne to its first Disc Golf Tournament, the Ice bowl in Easley SC 2010. I have been playing in the ice bowls for many years now. They are charity event. I am going to keep it short and sweet. Talk to all of yall later.
