MardiGras 2010

Hello all. I am writing y'all from New Orleans and I am now one year older. This has been my first Mardi Gras. And it was as crazy as everyone said it was going to be. And we did somehow play some disc golf. Lafreniere Park is the New Orleans DGC. It had 24 holes. They were pretty much in an open field with some big trees and tucked in pin positions. They was some water on a couple holes. I did throw a start xcalaper right in the drink .
So I had had the hardest time staying in front of joe and be on the score card. But I held the win by only one stroke. Good job Joe! So tomorrow we head out of town once again. Onward to Mississippi once again. This time I hope it's much warmer. So we'll talk to y'all at the casino when we hit it big. peace out

Bago work day

Hello all. Writing y'all from Slidell LA. Which is 20 miles out of New Orleans. We are here for Mardi Gras & my birthday. I'll be 29 this year. And I have never been to Mardi Gras so this is working out great. But other then that we started yesterday out great. We changed the spark plug and then played a huge course in Zachray LA. The course was called Flanacher park. They used all of the land they had. There were a lot of open shots and tight fairway shots. They also used the woods and the open fields wonderfully. So after finishing playing and eating some lunch we headed to the next town. We got about half way to our next destination and the throttle cable broke. This was the first time that the bago left us on the side of the road. So we had to call AAA. That god for them. They got us to Joe's uncle's house and then we bought the new cable this morning. But I am going to celebrate my birthday and Mardi Gras before i dive into fixing the bago. So I'll talk to y'all later

Monroe

Monroe LA

Hello all. This is Robbie writing y'all from Monroe LA. We had an old disc golf buddy that lives here. And he has took care of us right from the second we drove into town. I can't thank he enough. Him and his family has feed us and took us out with them. SO THANK YOU Roger Blocker!!!! Roger took us to his local courses (Lazare Park). But the main course here in town is under the water right now. But we managed to play about 9 holes. And then we went down the street to a DGC at a local ball golf course. I have never played on a ball golf course. And don't really want to ever again. There were ton of water holes and we lost our first discs of the trip. We lost a star Valkyrie and a Aviar big bead putter. But we knew we wouldn't make it home with all the disc that we started with. Alright guys time of me to go. so I'll be writing about our trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and my birthday this week. So talk to y'all then Peace

Roosevelt State Park

Roosevelt State Park. So we hit up this state park of a couple days of R & R. We have been spending way to much on gas these past couple days. And thought we would stay a couple days here at this huge state park. And there is a course on site aswell. And it only cost 16 dollars a day. We have been spending like over 80 dollars a day just on gas. so to only spend 16 dollars for a couple days helped out us a great deal. Anyways The course here is hardest course that i think i have ever played. Long holes and tight faiways and the over water shots make it hard. BUt i like it alot. Shot 14 over par. but it felt like on 5 over par at a normal course. So we are headed out of Mississippi as fast as we got here it feels. But onward to the next course. Talk to ya'll then :)

Hefflin AL

Lake point Dgc in Hefflin Al

Hello all. We are in Heffin AL. At Lake point Park. there might not be much here in Heffling, But I would love to live near this course.
It is a beauiful course that is right beside a lake. You start off on top of this dam. And shot right down the middle of the dam. Scary stuff
My fav so far. Shot one down. Pretty happy about that. I don't throw under often. Anyway weplayed Trussivile AL next. Man this course is long.
But real fun. they had the poles that are made to hold our discgolf bags at each tee pad. That was nice. A ton of huge Pine trees fill this course.
Civitan Park was the name of their course. Mach 5 baskets. Tough course. I shot 8 over. not to bad. Finnilay we played in biringham AL.
Goerge ward park is the name of their course. And it wasby far the busyest course that we have come accross. They even had someone in the parking lot selling disc.
So I bought me a Brand new Katana (Big star print). Man is it fast. Its just like they said " a beefed up sidewinder". We played most of the course. The sun wasnt on our side.
But we only skipped there extra hole. We played the main holes and just skipped the 14a thru 14f. I shot my second 8 over par for the day. Playing
three courses in one day will wear you out. So at the end of our round, we were walking u back to the bago. and we meet some locals. Brought they in the bago,
And talked discgolf till we were blue in the face. Hard part is haveing to leave when everyone is just so nice. BUt the trip has to go on. So we are off to Missisissippi.

Deer Lick Park

Hello all. Writting ya'll from HotLanta (Atlanta). Today we played a course Named Deer Lick Park. This course was a blast. Firts
let me tell you about the course map they give you. It has a diagram for each hole. That made it a lot easier to find out the layout
of the course. Which is usally our hardest thing about playing new courses. And they had a ton of stuff other then just discgolf.
They had a Big skate park, Putt-putt golf, big and little dogs areas. I lost my camera on hole 9 but we found it after looking for over 20 mins.
Alright guys, guess thats all for now.

The first day

Hello all. I am writing ya'll form the road:) We had an awesome day today. First thing that I am pretty happy about is that it only took about half of a tank to get to Atlanta GA from the Upstate of South Carolina. Plus the bago ran great. So we didn't get going this morning early enough to hit up both courses in ATL that I wanted to hit. But that's cool, I don't live that far from ATL anyway. We hit up Deer Lick Park in Douglasville GA. It was a beautiful 18 hole course. Even had a skate park, putt-putt, huge fishing pond, and even a dog park. The course was pretty hard. A lot of tough and long holes though the tight wooded fairways. But I came up with the big W. Beat Joe by five strokes and Ben by 13. I even lost my camera on hole 9. But didn't notice it missing until hole 15. We went back and found it. That was close to 6:30pm so I thought we were going to have to skip the last couple holes. But luckily we found it. So then we drove to Hefin AL. And now we are camping out near the course.
Talk to ya'll real soon
